Chris Brown today announced the program's 2003 baseball schedule.
The 52-game slate features eight games at the Gene Cusic Classic
in Ft. Myers, Fla. and six games against to-be-determined opponents
at the Missouri Southern tournament in Joplin, Mo.
The Beavers open their 2003 campaign March 7 at the Gene Cusic
Classic in Ft. Myers, Fla. BSU will play an eight-game slate
at the Classic with double-headers against Winona State in
non-conference action, Wayne State (Mich.), Stonehill (Pa.)
and Alderson-Broadus (W.V.).
BSU then makes a second trip south March 21, participating
in the Missouri Southern State Tournament in Joplin, Mo.
The Beavers open NSIC play April 4 at Minn.-Morris, and will
not make their home debut until an April 15 NSIC double-header
against Minn.-Crookston.
Bemidji State will play three non-conference home-and-home
series in addition to pre-season tournament play. All three
non-conference foes come from the North Central Conference.
BSU will visit North Dakota State April 9 then host the Bison
April 23; host North Dakota on April 16 then play at Grand
Forks on April 28; then play at St. Cloud State on April 22
and travel to St. Cloud on April 30. BSU's 2003 schedule is split nearly in half, away and home,
with the Beavers playing their first 28 scheduled games on
the road and then returning home for 20 of their final 24 contests.
April will again be the busiest month on the schedule, with
32 games scheduled in a 26-day period from April 4-30. Bemidji State finished the 2002 campaign with a 19-11 record,
finishing first in the regular-season NSIC race and hosting the
conference tournament. |
