Bemidji State plans winter baseball camp

one- or two-day skills camp slated for Dec. 17-18

BEMIDJI, Minn. - The Bemidji State University baseball program, in conjunction with Bemidji Youth Baseball, will hold a day camp on Dec. 17 and 18 at the Gillette Recreation and Fitness Center on the Bemidji State campus. The camps are open to boys and girls, ages 7-14.

Topics covered include stretching and warm-up routines, infield and outfield fielding techniques, hitting, pitching, catching, base running mechanics and skill-specific drills.

The Saturday, Dec. 17 camp is for boys or girls ages 7-14, and will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Sunday, Dec. 18 camp, also for boys or girls ages 7-14, will feature the Whiffle Ball World Series from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Registration fees are $35 for one day or $55 for both days of the camp.

Registration fees include instruction from Bemidji State coaches and players; a camp package which includes a t-shirt; autographs and numerous prizes. Lunch and beverages, courtesy of Dave’s Pizza and Coca-Cola, will also be provided at the Saturday camp only. Camp t-shirts are provided courtesy of Play It Again Sports.
