Marissa Mackedanz (So., Paynesville, Minn.) fired a 45 on the back nine of the par 73, 5,839-yard Lakeside Country Club to finish the first round of the Maverick Invitational in 31st place with a 96 (+23). She paced a Bemidji State University squad that is in sixth place after the first day of the 36-hole event.

Bemidji State University junior Jenna Schurman (Sauk, Centre, Minn.) fired a 91 (+19) in the final round of the 72-hole Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Golf Championship at the par-72, 5,958-yard Fox Run Golf Course in Yankton, S.D. Friday. Her tournament total of 354 (+66) led the Beavers and was good for a share of 19th place individually.

Apr. 10, 2008 - NSIC Championship pushed back due to weather
Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Commissioner Butch Raymond announced today that the spring portion of the 2007-08 NSIC Women's Golf Championship, originally slated for April 12-13 at Fox Run Golf Course in Yankton, S.D., has been postponed until April 17-18. The final 36 holes of the event has been moved due to predicted poor weather and already soggy course conditions.

Apr. 6, 2008 - Mackedanz and Fos tie for fourth at Peacock Invite
Mitchell Mackedanz (Jr., Paynesville, Minn.) and Jim Foss (Fr., Roseau, Minn.) led the Bemidji State University men's golf team to a fifth place finish at the Peacock Invitational in Amana, Iowa. The duo of Mackedanz and Foss fired matching 40-36--76 totals to tie for fourth place individually.

Apr. 2, 2008 - BSU men open 2008 spring season at Upper Iowa
The Bemidji State University head men's golf coach Don Niskanen today announced that the Beavers have been invited to play in the Upper Iowa University Spring Invitational April 5-6. The addition of the two-day tournament will serve as the Beavers' first outing of the 2008 spring season.

The Bemidji State men’s golf team carded a 299 during the final 18 holes of the 2007 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championship at Pebble Creek Golf Club in Becker, Minn. Sunday to jump into second place (307-299--606). BSU newcomer Jim Foss (Fr., Roseau, Minn.) paced the Beavers finishing fifth individually to earn all-conference honors.

Bemidji State University freshman Courtney Edwards (New London, Minn.) shaved eight strokes from her round one 89 to post an 81 on day two and finish the Fighting Sioux Invitational Monday with a 170 (+26) to finish locked in a tie for 34th place.

Oct. 1, 2007 - BSU takes third at Express Suites Riverport Inn event
The Bemidji State University men’s golf team carded a 288 during the final 18 holes of the Express Riverport Inn Championship in Winona, Minn. Monday for a two-day, 36-hole total of 287-288--575 (+15) and a third-place finish. Clint Cornell (Sr., Grand Rapids, Minn.) paced the Beavers firing a 70-71--141 (+1) to wrap the event in fifth place individually.

Sept. 30, 2007 - Play suspended at Express Suites Championship
Twenty-seven players failed to compete the first round of the Express Suites Riverport Inn Championship in Winona, Minn. Sunday as storm clouds moved in and play was suspended due to lightening. The Bemidji State University men's golf team, however, beat the storm and turned in a 287 (+7), paced by Day 1 leader Michael Abrahamson (69; -1), to wrap up the first 18 holes in third place.

Sept. 26, 2007 - Rude named NSIC Golfer of the Week
Bemidji State University senior Neil Rude (Sr., White Bear Lake, Minn.) has been selected as the Men's Co-Golfer of the Week by the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. Rude garners the award for his performance at the Fall Central Regional Sept. 24-25 at Wildflower Golf Club in Detroit Lakes, Minn.

Neil Rude (Sr., White Bear Lake, Minn.) and Josh Dale (So., Pequot Lakes, Minn.) turned in top-10 performances as the Bemidji State University men's golf team leapfrogged Concordia University-St. Paul and University of Minnesota, Crookston in the second round of the 2007 Fall Central Regional Tournament Tuesday to finish third with a 300-304--604 (+32).

The Bemidji State University women's golf team completed play at the 36-hole Mustang Invitational Sunday. Jenna Schurman (Jr., Sauk Centre, Minn.) shaved four strokes off her first round score to card an 87 (+15) and finish tied for 50th place with a total of 178 (+34).

The Bemidji State University men's golf team finished third in the Erv Kaiser Invitational Sunday after round three at the Fargo Country Club. Freshman Josh Dale paced the Beavers individually as he finished in seventh place at 16-over-par 232.

The Bemidji State men's golf team stands in third place after Saturday's second round of the Erv Kaiser Invitational at Meadows Golf Course in Moorhead, Minn. The Beavers shot a +25, 313 on the second day of the 54-hole tournament and trail the hosting North Dakota State University squad by eight strokes enter the third and final day of competition.

Sept. 9, 2007 - Beavers three strokes back after day 1 of BSU Invite
The 2007 Bemidji State Men's Golf Invitational got underway Sunday at the Bemidji Town and Country Club and the Beavers finished the first day of competition three stokes behind first place St. Cloud State with a team total of 295 (+7). Clint Cornell carded a one-under-par 36-35--71 to lead the way for BSU sitting two strokes out of the lead in second place with 18 holes to go.

Sept. 9, 2007 - BSU women complete rain delayed Concordia Invite
Rainy, wet course conditions put a halt to play on day 1 of the Concordia Invitational, but the sun came out Sunday and participants hit the Wild Flower Golf Course in full force to complete both rounds of the 36-hole event. Bemidji State junior Jenna Schurman led the way for the Beavers carding an 87-89--176 to tie for 17th place.

June 13, 2007 - Former Beaver begins U.S. Open play Thursday
When the field of the 107th U.S. Open hits the course for the first round of the 2007 event Thursday morning at Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, Pa., fans of golf will no doubt be on the lookout for the results of their favorite pros. But members of the Bemidji State University community and other Minnesotans may find themselves sifting right past Tiger Woods, Sergio Garcia and Phil Mickelson in search of Mike Berg.

The Bemidji State University men's golf team fired its best round of the 2007 NCAA Division II Central/Great Lakes Super Regional Wednesday carding a 302 but it was not enough to make a move on the leader board. May 7, 2007 - Central/Great Lakes Super Regional delayed due to rain
Due to heavy rain in the Joplin, Mo. area, the NCAA Division II Men's Central/Great Lakes Super Regional has gotten off to a slow start. Originally slated to begin at 8 a.m., the teams, including Bemidji State, have spent the day in the clubhouse waiting for the weather to cooperate. The rain has let up and the teams will attempt to get the first round in with a shotgun start at 3:15 p.m.
Apr. 30, 2007 - BSU earns invitation to NCAA Division II Tournament
The Bemidji State University men's golf team has been selected to compete in the 2007 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Super Regionals, the NCAA recently announced. BSU will participate in the Central/Great Lakes Super Regional scheduled for May 7-9 at the Twin Hills Golf and Country Club in Joplin, Missouri.

The Bemidji State men's golf team took advantage of the wonderful weather conditions Tuesday and squeezed an additional event into the 2007 spring slate. The Beavers defeated the University of Minnesota, Crookston in head-to-head competition at the par-72 Bemidji Town and Country Club, 298-316.

Due to the recent heavy rains causing unplayable course conditions, the two-day USD Invitational hosted by the University of South Dakota men’s and women’s golf teams has been shortened to a one day event, starting tomorrow at The Bluffs Golf Course in Vermillion, S.D. The round that was to have been played today has been eliminated.
Mar. 31, 2007 - Final day of 2007 Augustana Invitational rained out
Due to wet course conditions and continuing rain, the final day of the 2007 men's and women's Augustana Invitational has been rained out. The final 18 holes will not be made up due to heavy competition schedules for Sunday and Monday. Both BSU teams finish the abbreviated event in eighth place.

Mar. 30, 2007 - BSU tied for eighth after 18 holes of Augustana Invite
Clint Cornell (So., Grand Rapids, Minn.) and Mitch Mackedanz (So., Paynesville, Minn.) each fired a five-over 76 in the first round of the Augustana Invitational, individually tying for 16th place and pushing the Beavers into a tie with Upper Iowa for eighth place with 308.

The Bemidji State women's golf team is in eighth place after one round of the 2007 Augustana Invitational. The Beavers carded a first round 399 and trail tournament leader University of Nebraska at Omaha which fired a 308 (+20). BSU's Jenna Schurman (So., Sauk Centre, Minn.) sits in 32nd after firing an 42-43--85.

Mar. 28. 2007 - Beaver golfers open spring play in South Dakota
After nearly six months on the shelf, the Bemidji State women's and men's golf teams will retrieve their clubs from storage and wipe off the dust this weekend as they travel to South Dakota to open the spring portion of their 2006-07 schedules. Both teams are slated to make a pair of stops this weekend with the Augustana Invitational in Sioux Falls, S.D. on Friday and the University of South Dakota Invitational in Vermillion, S.D. on tap for Sunday.
