Bemidji, Minn. - At the Meadows Golf Club today, the Beavers split their squad to tie for eighth and place 16th in the first day of the two-day Irv Kaiser Invitational.

BSU freshman Jacob Jorde (Bemidji, Minn.) golfed a first-round score of 74, just three strokes behind the leader, University North Dakotas Matt Jacobson (71) Other Beavers on the leader board are sophomore Matt Gordon (75) (Detroit Lakes, Minn..) and sophomore Toby Palmiscno (76) (Grand Forks, N.D.).

The University of North Dakota white team led by Jacobson is in the lead (293) after the first day of competition.

Action will conclude tomorrow with tee-time set for 8:00 a.m. at the Oxbow Country Club.
