Bemidji, Minn. - At the St. John’s Invitational held this past Saturday and Sunday, Bemidji State split its squad to finish 12th (324-315=639) and 13th (334-323=657) overall in the 19-team field. Day two saw both teams shave 11 strokes from their team scores.

In his best performance of the 2002 campaign, freshman Shane Peterson (Thief River Falls, Minn.) led the BSU golfers with a 157 (79-78). He competed as an individual and tied for 23rd overall. Tied for 28th was sophomore Toby Palmiscno (Grand Forks, N.D.) as he carded a 158 (81-77) while freshman Jacob Jorde (80-80) (Bemidji, Minn.) and sophomore Matt Gorden (81-79) (Detroit Lakes, Minn.), came up with a two-day total of 160 to tie for 42nd overall.

Ryan Quinn from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire took the title with a 141 (73-68).

BSU will participate in the UND Invitational this Thursday and Friday with tee-time set for 9:00 a.m. on both days.
