WINONA, Minn. - Bemidji State’s Tracy Depew sparked the BSU women’s golf team to a nine-stroke win in a duel with Winona State, capturing individual medalist honors with a two-round 82-82=164.

Depew’s rounds of 82 were the two low rounds of the tournament, which helped her to a five-shot win over teammate Dana Hasselberg (86-83=169) for individual medalist honors. Depew was seven shots better than the top Winona State finisher, Kim Sovereign at 86-85=171, for her first win of the season.

Hasselberg’s second-round 83 was tied for the third-lowest round of the tournament, behind only Depew’s pair of 82s. Also, her three-shot improvement from Round 1 to Round 2 was the second-best improvement of the tournament. Winona State’s Kyra Jordan shot a second-round 83 after shooting a 94 in the first round, an 11-shot improvement.

Jeanne Larson finished fifth amongst individuals at 88-86=174, and Marci Falldorf tied for sixth at 86-91=177. Falldorf was one of just two golfers to finish in the top six and shoot a round in the 90s.

Courtney Wallace finished 14th with rounds of 107-104=211, and Jaimee Sebo shot 99-115=214.

Bemidji State women’s golf returns to the links April 18-19 at the Minn. State-Mankato Invitational in Waseca, Minn.
