ELK RIVER, Minn. - After the first day of
the Twin Cities Classic, Bemidji States mens golf
team sits in a tie for 15th place, 28 strokes behind the tournament-leading
University of St. Thomas.
Senior Toby Palmiscno (Grand Forks, N.D.), who finished
tied for 28th in the individual standings, carded the Beavers
best round of the day. His score of 76 was two strokes better
than freshman teammate Neil Rude (White Bear Lake,
Minn.).
The University of St. Thomas Brett Egge fired a 32 on
the back nine, propelling him to a tournament-leading five-under-par
67. Only three golfers finished under par at the par-72 Elk
River Country Club.
The second round of the event will be held Sunday in Ramsey,
Minn. at the Links at Northfork. Mondays final round
will be hosted by the Stillwater Country Club.
