BEMIDJI, Minn. -- [complete
results] Bemidji State University golfer Clint
Cornell finds himself alone in second place after
shooting a four-under 68 (34-34) opening round of the 36-hole
Bemidji State Invitational Sunday at the Bemidji Town and
Country Club. He paced the BSU Green team that sits two strokes
back, in third place behind a pair of squads from St. John's
University.
Also making their way onto the individual leader board for
BSU were Neil Rude, Mitchell Mackendanz
and Jeff Peltier. Rude fired a 34-38=72
to slide into a tie for fifth while Mackendanz finished tied
for 13th a stroke back at 73 (37-36). Rounding out the top
20 for BSU was Peltier who put together a round of 74 (35-39)
finishing the day knotted with five others for 18th.
Mackendanz turned in the best score for the BSU White team
seated in tenth place with a total score of 302, 15 stokes
out of the lead.
Final round action gets underway tomorrow morning with an
8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
