FARGO, N.D. -- day 2 results [PDF]
The Bemidji State University men's golf team used a 291 to
move into second place after 36 holes of the 12-team Erv Kaiser
Invitational hosted by North Dakota State University at the
Village Golf Course in Moorhead, Minn.
The Beavers' day-two team total of 291 kept pace with leader
2004 NSIC Champion Winona State University (291) and blew
past the NCAA Division I-A host North Dakota State which posted
298 in day two. With just one round remaining, the Beavers
(290-291=581) remain sandwiched in second place, two strokes
behind WSU and a two stoke cushion above NDSU.
BSU is paced by individual Neil Rude (So.,
White Bear Lake, Minn.) who carded a four-under-par 68 on
day two to jump up five places into second overall (72-68=140).
Fellow Beaver Clint Cornell (So., Grand Rapids,
Minn.) also find himself in the top 10 with a 70-76=146 after
36 holes.
BSU's second team sits 54 strokes off the lead in ninth place.
Mitch Mackendanz (Fr., Paynesville, Minn.)
leads the team currently in 20th place with a 75-77-152.
Leader Troy Merritt (WSU) matched his day-one 67 to take
a seven shot lead heading into the final round.
The 54-hole invitational will conclude tomorrow (Sept. 18)
when the teams take on the Fargo Country Club. Tee times are
set to begin 9 a.m.
