Bemidji State in second place after first round of SIoux Invitational
Rude cards even 72 to sit in second individually

- [first round results] The Bemidji State men's golf team sits in second place after 18 holes of the Sioux Invitational at King's Walk Golf Course in Grand Forks, N.D. Neil Rude (Jr., White Bear Lake, Minn.) fired an even 72 on day one to put himself alone in second place and to lead all Beavers golfers.

Bemidji State which recorded an 18-hole total of 304 (+16) on the the par 72, 7,166-yard course, will open final round play Monday morning just two shots behind the University of Manitoba (302) for the event's title.

Kyle Peterson of the University of Minnesota, Crookston finds himself atop the leader board after the first of two rounds after carding a 34-37=71 (-1). He was the only golfer to record a score under par on day one.

An additional BSU team is tied with teams from the University of North Dakota and Minnesota State University for eighth place. The squad was paced by Jared Stull (Sr., Bemidji, Minn.) who posted an 18-hole total of 40-38=78 (+6) good for a share of 21st position.

The 36-hole event wraps up Monday with a morning shotgun start.
