GRAND FORKS, N.D. - [final
results] Bemidji State junior Neil Rude
(White Bear Lake, Minn.) finished the Sioux Invitational with
a 36-hole total of 72-74=146 (+2) to earn second place while
leading the Beavers to a third place finish in the event at
King's Walk Golf Course in Grand Forks, N.D. Sept. 23-24.
Bemidji State which recorded an Sunday total of 304 (+16)
on the the par 72, 7,166-yard course to sit in second place
posted a day two total of 305 for a two day total of 604.
But a 298 by the Minnesota State University squad Monday propelled
the Mavericks past BSU for second place with a 604.
The University of Manitoba's Scott Markham took home medallist
honors firing a 73-71=144 (E) as Manitoba took top team honors
carding a 302-300=602.
An additional BSU team finished in 11th place. The squad
was paced by Jared Stull (Sr., Bemidji, Minn.)
who posted an 36-hole total of 78-81 (+15) good for a share
of 35th position.
The Beavers will be back in action this weekend (Sept. 29-30)
when they travel to Detroit Lakes, Minn. to complete in the
NCAA Division II North Central Regional Tournament at Wildflower
Golf Club.
