FARGO, N.D. (Fargo Country Club) -- The Bemidji State University men's golf team finished third in the Erv Kaiser Invitational Sunday after round three at the Fargo Country Club.
The Beavers finished with a team total of 310-318-316--944, including a 316 (+28) in the final round. Bemidji State finished 23 shots behind the host North Dakota State University (921).
Freshman Josh Dale paced the Beavers individually as he finished in seventh place at 16-over-par 232. Mitchell Mackedanz and Clint Cornell also finished among the top 10 places as Mackedanz wound up in a tie for eighth place with a 233 (+25) and Cornell used a three-over-par 75 on the final day to pull into a tie for 10th place with a 234 (+26).
Medalist honors went to NDSU's Lee Cavanagh who led from wire to wire. He carded an event total of five-over-par 221.
The BSU White team finished in fifth place with a total of 956.
The Beavers will return to action Sept. 24-25 when they travel to the Wildflower Golf Club in Detroit Lakes, Minn. for the NCAA Central Regional.
