WINONA, Minn. (The Bridges Golf Club) -- The Bemidji State University men’s golf team carded a 288 during the final 18 holes of the Express Riverport Inn Championship in Winona, Minn. Monday for a two-day, 36-hole total of 287-288--575 (+15) and a third-place finish. Clint Cornell (Sr., Grand Rapids, Minn.) paced the Beavers firing a 70-71--141 (+1) to wrap the event in fifth place individually.

Adam Winans of Upper Iowa University garnered medallist honors posting a 69-68--137 (-3) while St. Cloud State used a blistering 277 (-2) team total on day two to leapfrog BSU and the hosting Winona State University and gain the team title.

The first round of play was suspended due to lightening Sunday with 27 participants on the course. Play resumed at 8:30 a.m. Monday morning before final round play began.

Correction: Results supplied by Winona State University Sunday incorrectly scored Bemidji State’s Michael Abrahamson in first place with a round one score of 69. Abrahamson actually scored a 76 on day one and finished in 33rd-place with 76-81--156 (+16).
