Sunday to jump into second place (307-299--606). BSU newcomer Jim Foss (Fr., Roseau, Minn.) paced the Beavers finishing fifth individually to earn all-conference honors.

Monday for a two-day, 36-hole total of 287-288--575 (+15) and a third-place finish. Twenty-seven players failed to compete the first round of the Express Suites Riverport Inn Championship in Winona, Minn. Sunday as storm clouds moved in and play was suspended due to lightening. The Bemidji State University men's golf team, however, beat the storm and turned in a 287 (+7), paced by Day 1 leader Michael Abrahamson (69; -1), to wrap up the first 18 holes in third place.

The 2007 Bemidji State Men's Golf Invitational got underway Sunday at the Bemidji Town and Country Club and the Beavers finished the first day of competition three stokes behind first place St. Cloud State with a team total of 295 (+7). Clint Cornell carded a one-under-par 36-35--71 to lead the way for BSU sitting two strokes out of the lead in second place with 18 holes to go.

Rainy, wet course conditions put a halt to play on day 1 of the Concordia Invitational, but the sun came out Sunday and participants hit the Wild Flower Golf Course in full force to complete both rounds of the 36-hole event. Bemidji State junior Jenna Schurman led the way for the Beavers carding an 87-89--176 to tie for 17th place.

Junior Jenna Schurman (Sauk Centre, Minn.) paced the squad shooting an 82 (+10) to settle into a tie for third place in the 18-hole event.

| Due to heavy rain in the Joplin, Mo. area,
the NCAA Division II Men's Central/Great Lakes Super Regional
has gotten off to a slow start. Originally slated to begin at
8 a.m., the teams, including Bemidji State, have spent the day
in the clubhouse waiting for the weather to cooperate. The rain
has let up and the teams will attempt to get the first round
in with a shotgun start at 3:15 p.m. |
The Bemidji State University men's golf team
has been selected to compete in the 2007 NCAA Division II Men's
Golf Super Regionals, the NCAA recently announced. BSU will
participate in the Central/Great Lakes Super Regional scheduled
for May 7-9 at the Twin Hills Golf and Country Club in Joplin,
Missouri.

additional event into the 2007 spring slate. The Beavers defeated
the University of Minnesota, Crookston in head-to-head competition
at the par-72 Bemidji Town and Country Club, 298-316.

carded an 18-hole total of 306 and finished 13 strokes behind
tournament champion St. Cloud State University (293). Neil
Rude (Jr., White Bear Lake, Minn.) paced the Beavers
firing an even 72 falling out of medallist honors in a playoff.

weather-shortened University of South Dakota Invitational at
the Bluffs Golf Course in Vermillion, S.D. Monday. The Sauk
Centre, Minn. native earned 19th place while leading the Beavers
to a 394 and seventh place in the event.

be made up due to heavy competition schedules for Sunday and

Bemidji State women's and men's golf teams will retrieve their
clubs from storage and wipe off the dust this weekend as they
travel to South Dakota to open the spring portion of their 2006-07
schedules. Both teams are slated to make a pair of stops this
weekend with the Augustana Invitational in Sioux Falls, S.D.
on Friday and the University of South Dakota Invitational in
Vermillion, S.D. on tap for Sunday.
