VERMILLION, S.D. -- The Bemidji University men's
golf team finished fourth at the abbreviated University of
South Dakota Invitational at The Bluffs Golf Course in Vermillion,
S.D. Monday. The Beavers carded an 18-hole total of 306 and
finished 13 strokes behind tournament champion St. Cloud State
University (293).
Individually, the Beavers were led by junior All-Northern
Sun Intercollegiate Conference performer Neil Rude
(White Bear Lake, Minn.). Rude finished the par 72, 6,734-yard
course even (37-37--72) locked in a three-way tie for first
place but lost a playoff for medallist honors to St. Cloud
State's Jake Zilkoski.
Adam McArthur (So., Detroit Lakes, Minn.),
who participated for BSU as in individual in the event, was
just one over (37-36--73) to finish the 18-hole event tied
for fourth place. Mitch Mackedanz (So., Paynesville,
Minn.) recorded his second consecutive top-20 finish firing
a 39-37--76 (+4) and finished sharing 18th place.
Bemidji State is back in action April 9th when the team travels
to Mankato, Minn. for the Minnesota State Invitational.
