Bemidji State women wrap up play at the Mustang Invitational
Schurman finishes tied for 50th to lead Beavers

MARSHALL, Minn.
(Marshall Golf Club) -- The Bemidji State University women's golf team completed play at the 36-hole Mustang Invitational Sunday. Jenna Schurman (Jr., Sauk Centre, Minn.) shaved four strokes off her first round score to card an 87 (+15) and finish tied for 50th place with a total of 178 (+34).

Schurman paced the BSU contingent with Marissa Mackedanz (Fr., Paynesville, Minn.) finishing 94-91--185 (+41) to tie for 69th and Courtney Edwards (Fr., New London-Spicer, Minn.) took 81st with an 96-99--195 (+51).

The University of Nebraska-Omaha's Lindsay Newton fired a 78-77--155 (+11) to take medallist honors as her teammates Erin Omman (78-78--156; +12) and Lynn Mulligan (80-78--158; +14) finished second and third respectively pushing the Mavericks to the team title by a whopping 24 strokes (319-313-632; +56).

Due to lack of participants, BSU did not compete as a team. In order to submit a team score, at least four individual scores are needed.

The Bemidji State women will be in action Sept. 30-Oct. 1 when they travel to Grand Forks, N.D. to compete in the Fighting Sioux Invitational.
