BECKER, Minn. (Pebble Creek Golf Club) -- Bemidji State University junior Jenna Schurman (Sauk Centre, Minn.) sits in 14th place with 87-84-171 after 36 holes of the 2007-08 NSIC Women's Golf Championship at Pebble Creek Golf Club in Becker, Minn.

Schurman led a trio of BSU participants with Marissa Mackedanz (Fr.,Paynesville, Minn.) tied for 26th place (92-88-180) and Courtney Edwards (Fr., New London, Minn.) five strokes back in 31st place rounding out the group.

Upper Iowa University earned the 2007 team championship (322-303--625) behind medallist Rachael Schmidt (77-71--148) and Rochelle Schmidt (84-74--158) and Laura Taylor (79-79--158) who finished tied for third place.

Due to lack of participants, BSU did not compete as a team. In order to submit a team score, at least four individual scores are needed.

The final 36 holes of the unique tournament will be played April 12-13, 2008 at Fox Run Golf Course in Yankton, S.D. with the team champion earning an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament. The top eight individual participants will garner All-NSIC honors.

The NSIC Championship marks the conclusion of the 2007 fall women's golf season at BSU. The team begin its spring schedule in March of 2008.
