Bemidji State men open 2008 spring season at Upper Iowa
Late addition to schedule kicks off weather delayed spring campaign

BEMIDJI, Minn.
-- The Bemidji State University head men's golf coach Don Niskanen today announced that the Beavers have been invited to play in the Upper Iowa University Spring Invitational April 5-6. The addition of the two-day tournament will serve as the Beavers' first outing of the 2008 spring season.

BSU will travel to Amana, Iowa Friday for a practice round with the 36-hole tournament set to start Saturday morning at Amana Colonies Golf Course. Final round action will wrap up Sunday.

The Beavers are coming off a fall campaign in which they placed among the top three teams in each of their six events and were led by the trio of Clint Cornell (Sr., Grand Rapids), Neil Rude (White Bear Lake, Minn.) and All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Performer Jim Foss (Fr., Roseau, Minn.). The team capped the season with a second-place finish at the NSIC Championship.

Next on the docket for the BSU men is set trip to Lake City, Minn. to compete in Concordia University-St. Paul's Spring Invitational (April. 14-15).
