Bemidji State women take third at SCSU Husky Classic
Mackedanz and Stoffels turn in matching scorecards to tie for 10th place

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (St. Cloud Country Club) -- The tandem of Marissa Mackedanz (Jr., Paynesville, Minn.) and Kathryn Stoffels (Fr., Maple Grove, Minn.) carded matching 176 (+32) to lead the Bemidji State University women’s golf team to third place at the SCSU Husky Classic Oct. 4-5 at St. Cloud Country Club, in St. Cloud Minn.

Mackedanz and Stoffels turned in identical scorecards to finish 32-over-par and tie for 10th place with 86-90-176. Lindsay Morgan (Fr., Crookston, Minn.) posted a 94-88--182 to finish six strokes back (+38) alone in 13th place. Gretchen Trosen (Jr., Larimore, N.D.) and Ciarra Paulson (So., Hermantown, Minn.) rounded out BSU’s participating quintet finishing in 17th and 20th place respectively.

As a team, BSU registered a two-day, 36-hole mark of 363-366-729 (+153) to hold down third place and finish 71 shots of the pace set by University of Manitoba (240-318--658 +82). Hosting St. Cloud State University took second place, despite leading after 18 holes, with a two-day total of 333-334--667 (+91).

The Bemidji State women’s golf team will be back in action this weekend when it travels to St. Paul, Minn. and its Hillcrest Country Club to participate in the 2009 NSIC Fall Golf Championship.
