The WCHA will remain at 10 teams but will immediately and indefinitely lift its moratorium on expansion in the hopes of seeking a potential partner for Bemidji State, which would bring the association’s membership to 12. The exhibition series is a match up of two unique schools with very proud hockey traditions. Manitoba first supported a hockey squad in 1919-20 and has piled up nearly 700 wins, while BSU’s hockey roots go back to 1946-47 and boast over 900 wins and 13 national championships.
