"We feel this is an excellent recruiting class," Serratore said. "This class will add depth to our program immediately. These kids will compete for jobs right from the start."

• F/RW Jean-Guy Gervais (Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada/born Oct. 2, 1981) captained the 2001-02 edition of the Nipawin Hawks of the Saskatchewan Junior A Hockey League and was named Team MVP . Serratore on Gervais: "Jean-Guy is a power forward who will bring intensity and show up for us night in and night out. He's a proven leader and could very easily be our captain some day."

• F Blaine Jarvis (Gladstone, Manitoba/born May 29, 1984) was named team MVP of the Neepawa Natives of the Manitoba Junior A Hockey League in 2001-02, and also won the team +/- award after finishing the season at +49.
