Bemidji State offers chance to 'Skate with the Beavers'
Event planned for Saturday, Mar. 1

BEMIDJI, Minn. The Bemidji State University men's ice hockey team invites youth from Bemidji and the surrounding area to 'Skate with the Beavers' Saturday, March 1. The event has been planned in conjunction with the Beavers' 2007-08 regular-season finale.

Youth wearing Bemidji Youth Hockey jerseys will be admitted to the game free of admission to help cheer the Beavers on to victory over Wayne State University. Following the game Beavers hockey fans will have the opportunity to meet current BSU men's hockey players and coaches, lace up their own skates and hit the ice at the John Glas Fieldhouse to skate where the Beavers skate.

The game is is set for a 7:05 start.

The first place Beavers, 14-15-3 overall and 11-4-3 in CHA play, open the series Friday with a 7:35 p.m. drop of the puck versus the same Wayne State squad. A sweep over the Warriors this weekend would help the Beavers clinch their third College Hockey America regular-season title in the last four years and grab the top seed in the upcoming (Mar. 14-17) CHA Tournament in Niagara, N.Y.
