Quickly: Solid defenseman who is one of BSU’s on-ice leaders... Shoots right... Twin brother, Bill, is a forward on the BSU team... A member of the BSU academic Dean’s List in 2000-01 and 2001-02.

Career Notes: Tied for 41st on BSU career scoring list amongst defensemen with 10-28=38 points; next: t-39th: Tim Rood (9-33=42, 1979-’83) and Steve Lundeen (9-33=42, 1984-’86).

2002-03 (Jr): 2002-03 Team Captain... Led BSU in penalties (20), 5th in penalty minutes (40)... All games: t-14th in CHA in defenseman scoring (3-9=12)... CHA games only: t-14th in CHA in defenseman scoring (2-4=6).
• Three games this season, nine all-time scoring a point in the same game as his twin brother, junior forward Bill Methven... Both Methvens scored a goal in same game just once - 2003 CHA quarterfinals vs Findlay (3/14/03).
Four shots on goal, two penalty minutes in Sacred Heart series (10/18-19/02)... Had huge impact on BSU’s 5-5 draw with Union College (10/26/02); tied career high with two assists, set career high with seven shots on net, drew career-high five penalties for career-high 10 PIM... In CHA games only, t-9th in CHA in scoring (defensemen only) with 2-6=8 points.
Scored two goals in three-game span, 12/8-15/01... Goal atUM-Duluth (12/8/01)...Goal at then-No. 1 St. Cloud State (12/15/01)... Scored first two goals of career in Connecticut series (10/26-27/01); three points in series... Goal vs Connecticut on 10/27/01 was unassisted, empty-net goal... Assist at Union College(11/2/01) gave Methven a career-best three-game scoring streak... Three points in Ala.-Huntsville series (11/16-17/01; g, 2a)... Seven points vs CHA foes (seven assists) tied for eighth in the leauge amongst freshmen... Season-high two assists vs Niagara (2/9/2001)... Career-high six shots on goal vs Wayne State (2/24/2001)... Nineteen penalties for 38 minutes on the season, but only two games with more than one penalty... Three penalties, six penalty minutes vs Lake Superior State (12/29/2000).

Prior to BSU: Lettered in hockey (3 years) and football (2) at Mora High... In football, finished second on the team in tackles and was named all-conference... In hockey, was a two-time all-conference selection as as a senior was tabbled Defensive Player of the Year... Scored 52 total points on 21 goals and 31 assists... Played junior hockey for the Fargo Ice Sharks, where he earned a USHL Player of the Week award and was voted team captain... Traded to USHL-Green Bay Gamblers; helped lead Gamblers to Clark Cup (USHL playoff) championship.

Personal: Born July 26, 1979... Son of Peter and Claudia Methven... Father wrestled at Minn.-Duluth... Twin brother of junior forward Bill Methven; three games in 2001-02, six all-time, with bothMethven brothers scoring at least one point in the same game... Majoring in business.
