Did not dress for BSU’s next 19 games, but made appearance at third-line defense for Findlay series (1/31-2/1) in place if injured Jesse Balsimo... Two shots on goal in series... Holman has heart surgery, misses only two games
Holman had seven hours of heart surgery to repair damaged valves on Monday, Feb. 27, 2006 following the team’s weekend series at Niagara. In addition to the arthroscopic repair, he had a monitor attached to track his heart performance which must remain in place for the next 18 months. Holman missed just two games due to the surgery - BSU’s season-ending home series against Ala.-Huntsville - and returned to play in both games of the CHA Tournament. He had an assist in BSU’s semifinal win over Ala.-Huntsville just 12 days after the surgery.
