Soares joins the Bemidji State roster after a stellar four-year career with the Coquitlam Express. He’s been named Coquitlam’s Most Popular Player after each of his three full seasons with the team, and since joining the Express in 2001 he’s piled up 165 points.
Soares piled up 37-23=60 points in 60 games for Coquitlam a year ago, scoring in 19 of the team’s first 25 games with seven multi-point games. He was honored as a Three Star of the Game four times, and was named the Boston Pizza Player of the Month for September, 2004.
During his debut campaign with the Express in 2000-01, he scored 14-26=40 points in 57 games. He improved to 25-25=52 points in 59 games during the 2001-02 season, and added 4-3=7 points in seven BCHL playoff games. In 2003-04, he tallied 24-18=42 points in 60 regular-season games and 2-2=4 points in seven BCHL playoff tilts.
Prior to joining the Express, Soares scored 63-61=124 points for Burnaby’s bantam-league program. He scored 43-28=71 points in just 25 games in 2000-01 alone. |
