Kari Suoraniemi had a stellar professional hockey career, playing in the Finnish and Swedish Elite leagues, and was a member of the Finnish National Team. Suoraniemi also played for the AHL’s Rochester Americans from 1980-83, scoring 12-58=71 points in 137 career games. He remains the 41st-leading scorer amongst defensemen in Americans history.
