Series Updates
• BSU improved to 2-3-0 all-time against Ferris State, with back-to-back wins in the series.
• BSU improved to 2-9-1 in 12 games against the Central Collegiate Hockey Association since making the jump to Division I in 1999. Both wins have come against Ferris State.
BSU Team Notes
• Tonight’s win was the 850th in the history of the BSU program. BSU improves to 850-385-69 (.678) in 49 years of competition.
• BSU improved to 36-9-2 all-time in season openers and 3-2-1 in season openers in its Division I era (since 1999).
...won a season opener for the first time since 2001 (7-6 vs Minnestoa State).
• BSU snapped an eight-game winless streak in games played in the month of October. BSU’s last win in October came on Oct. 27, 2001 vs Connecticut (W, 2-0).
• BSU scored three goals in a span of 3:14 in the second (2:05, 4:17, 5:19). It is the sixth-fastest three-goal outburst in BSU’s Division I era
• BSU scored four second-period goals, its most in a single period since March 13, 2004 against Findlay in the CHA Tournament semifinals. BSU scored four goals in the first period of that game.
• BSU scored three power-play goals in the second period. It is BSU’s first period with three or more power-play goals since Feb. 1, 2002 against Niagara; BSU scored three in the second period of a 7-4 victory.
• BSU out-shot Ferris State, 28-21, tonight. BSU has not been out-shot on its home ice since Dec. 7, 2002 (23 consecutive games).
• BSU’s fourth line of Shane Holman, Matt Pope and Blaine Jarvis scored 2-2=4 points. It is the most points produced by a BSU fourth line since Jan. 31, 2004 against Findlay, when the fourth line of Bill Methven, Jared Hanowski and Rob Sirianni had 2-3=5 points.

• Serratore improved his career record to 48-45-16 in 109 games at Bemidji State
• Improved to 2-2-0 in season opening games as BSU’s head coach
• Improved to 2-3-0 as BSU’s head coach against teams from the Central Collegiate Hockey Association

• Peter Jonsson (Sr., D, Astorp, Sweden) recorded his 29th career assist on Murray’s goal at 5:19 of the second. It was his 34th career point, moving him into a tie for 50th place on BSU’s career scoring list for defensemen.
• Andrew Murray (Sr., C, Selkirk, Manitoba) recorded his 17th career multi-point game (1-1=2 points). Murray now stands just 21 points from Marty Goulet’s BSU career Division I-era record for point scoring (100).
...tied Ferris State’s entire lineup for shots on goal in the first period (5).
...scored his 31st career goal and 12th career power-play goal at 5:19 of the second period.
