Eight games versus six teams that advanced to the 2009 Central Region Tournament, including elite eight participant in the 2009 NCAA Division II Tournament Southwest Minnesota State University highlight the 2009-10 Bemidji State University men’s basketball schedule announced today by head coach Matt Bowen. Of the 27 games on the docket for the Beavers next winter, 12 will take place at the BSU Gymnasium, which includes 10 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) games and two non-conferences tilts.

The Bemidji State University men’s basketball team received four national letters-of-intent during the late singing period, head coach Matt Bowen announced today. Joining the Beavers next season will be 6-foot-5, 190-pound forward Jon Krebs (Mahtomedi, MN/Mahtomedi HS), 6-foot-7, 185-pound forward Burke Lendl (St. Michael, Minn./Rogers HS), 6-foot-2, 165-pound shooting guard Noah Shepherd (Minneapolis, Minn./Washburn HS), and 6-foot-6, 175-pound forward Mason Walters (Milton, Wis./Milton HS). In the longest game in school history the Bemidji State University men’s basketball team held a lead over Minnesota Duluth for the first 37:50 of play Wednesday evening at the BSU Gymnasium, but a stubborn Bulldogs team fought back to tie the game with one second remaining on the clock sending the game into the first of four overtime periods. A jumper by the Bulldogs John Vaudreuil with four seconds left in the fourth overtime proved to be the game winner as UMD stole a 126-124 4OT Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference victory from the Beavers at the BSU Gymnasium.
