At Bemidji State: Plans to sit out of the 2006-07 season as a red shirt.

Jamestown College: Played in 20 games for the Jimmies in 2005-06 while battling through multiple nagging injuries...averaged 1.5 points, 1.0 assists, 1.1 points and 0.5 steals per contest as a junior.

Rainy River Community College: Saw significant playing time as a sophomore (2004-05) starting 15 games...averaged 13.5 points while hitting 57-percent of his shots from the floor...led the team grabbing nearly eight rebounds per game despite standing just 6-3....garnered a First Team All-Division selection...posted averaged of 6.0 points, 2.5 assists and 1.5 rebounds during his freshman campaign.

New York Mills High School:
Was a two year starter for the Eagles...pulled in a pair of All-Park Region Conference awards...averaged 20 points and 12 rebounds per game as a senior...Also participated on the track and field team as a prep qualifying for the Minnesota State Track and Field Meet as a senior...was a member of the National Honor Society and the Honor Roll.

Personal: Born August 5, 1985 in Duluth, Minn...he is the son of Tim and Kim Aker...He is a Physical Education major at BSU...both of his parents were collegiate athletes. His father played basketball while his mother participated in both volleyball and basketball...Aker enjoys video games and watching sports on television when he is not on the court.
