Becky Elk (Elgin, Ill.)
Played at BSU from 1999-2001
Becky Elk, Bemidji State University's inaugural Hall of Fame
inductee, left a lasting legacy on the Beaver soccer program
in her three year-career. The Elgin, Ill., native will go
down in history as one of BSU's most prolific goal scorers,
amassing a program-best 30 markers in 51 games in a Green
and White uniform. Elk also holds school records in points
(71), shots (182), highest single-game shot total (16) and
is tied for second all-time in assists (11).
A three-year starter at various positions including forward, midfielder, and defender for the Beavers, Elk is one
of just two BSU players to be named to the Northern Sun Intercollegiate
Athletic Conference All-Conference team three consecutive
seasons (1999, 2000, 2001). Lindsey Natwick is the other to
receive NSIC honors in three striaght years (2002, 2003, 2004).
In addition, Elk was selected to the 2001 NSIC All-Academic
Team.
After her junior campaign at BSU, Elk transferred to the University
of Wisconsin-Parkside, where she received her bachelor's degree
in biological science.
Elk just finished her second season as volunteer assistant
coach at Michigan State University.
She is working towards completion of her master's degree in
forensic science.
