Nov. 4, 2009 - St. Cloud State ends Bemidj State’s season on PKs

The Bemidji State soccer team was seven minutes away from advancing on to the semifinals of the NSIC tournament when a late goal by St. Cloud State sent the game into overtime. Neither side could claim victory in the two overtime periods so penalty kicks were needed to declare the winner. Even the shootout was close as it went into sudden victory after five rounds, with the Huskies winning 6-5 after seven rounds.

Aug. 29, 2008 - Stone announces schedule change

BSU coach Jim Stone announced today that Providence College has withdrawn from the Super 8 Fall Classic Tournament previously scheduled for a three-game set Sept. 6-7. Providence was scheduled to play BSU, with the winner taking on the winner of Minnesota State University Moorhead and Northwestern College. The tournament will now be a round-robin format and will take place over the course of three days, spanning from Sept. 5-7.

Aug. 14, 2008 - BSU picked ninth in preseason coaches poll
Bemidji State has been selected by the coaches in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference to finish ninth in the upcoming 2008 season. Senior captain midfielder Kelly Hyvare (Coon Rapids, Minn.) and sophomore defender Alysha Domiano (Dayton, Minn.) were selected as the two Players to Watch for the Beavers this upcoming year. Bemidji State is also returning midfielder Ashlee Ellefsen (So., Hugo, Minn.), who made the All-NSIC Second Team during her freshman campaign.

Aug. 7, 2008 - Beaver soccer team set to open 2008 fall camp Monday
The Bemidji State University soccer team will begin preparation for the 2008 season on Monday, Aug. 11 when seven-year head coach Jim Stone is expected to welcome 26 student-athletes for the first day of fall camp.

Coach Jim Stone has announced the finalized schedule for the 2008 season. This will be the first year of conference play that the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference will feature 14 teams, with the additions of Augustana College, the University of Minnesota Duluth, Minnesota State University, Mankato and St. Cloud State University.

Apr. 10, 2008 - Too much snow, so no go for first game of spring

Coach Jim Stone announced today that the first game of the 2008 spring schedule was canceled due to inclement weather. BSU was scheduled to play the Woodbury U-17 Premier team April 13 at 10 a.m. at the BSU Soccer Field. The field, however, is currently covered with snow and is not fit for play.

Mar. 28, 2008 - Former Beaver becomes first BSU professional player
Former Bemidji State soccer player and Bemidji native Megan Wallner has agreed to terms for a one-season contract with the professional soccer team, Sundsvall DFF. The team is located in Sundsvall, Sweden, and when Wallner steps on the field for her first game, she will become the first-ever Beaver to play professional soccer.

BSU coach Jim Stone announced today the signing of 10 new additions to the Bemidji State soccer program for the 2008 season. The incoming players have all signed National Letters of Intent to play for the Beaver program, and they include eight Minnesotans and two natives of North Dakota that will each begin their eligibility at BSU next fall.

Senior defender Megan Wallner (Bemidji, Minn.) has been named to the ESPN the Magazine / College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) College Division All-District Third Team for her efforts on the field and in the classroom, CoSIDA announced Thursday. Wallner was one of two captains for this year’s Bemidji State soccer team, which ended its season with a fourth-straight trip to the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Tournament.
