BEMIDJI, Minn. - Bemidji State University
head women's soccer coach Jim Stone today announced
the signing of two student-athletes to national letters of
intent for the 2003 season.
Stone announced the signing of
forward Ashley Lehmeier (Sartell, Minn.) and defender Tracy
Ringgenberg (Bismarck, N.D.).
Lehmeier, who scored 24 goals for Sartell High School last
year, brings BSU another accomplished goal-scoring forward.
"
Ashley has been one of the best prep goal scorers in Minnesota
over the last three years," Stone said. "We feel
very fortunate to have signed her. She is the type of player
that is talented enough, even in a total team sport like
soccer, to actually add a couple of wins onto your record
every season. We expect her to step right in and be one of
the better forwards in our conference."
Ringgenberg
helped lead Bismarck's Century High School
to back-to-back state championships the last two years as
a defender.
"
Tracy is a tenacious defender," Stone said. "She's
very scrappy and is not the type of player who is afraid
to put her neck on the line for the team. She has good physical
abilities."
The signing of Lehmeier and Ringgenberg bring
BSU's
total 2003 signing class to seven student-athletes. A complete
roster of BSU's 2003 signees can be found below.
Bemidji
State finished its 2002 campaign with a 4-12 overall record,
1-8 in NSIC play in Stone's first year with
the program.
