BEMIDJI, Minn. - Bemidji
State University head women’s soccer coach Jim Stone
today announced the signing of Christina Hicks (Minnetonka,
Minn.) to a national letter of intent for the 2003 season.
The
addition of Hicks brings the total BSU soccer signing class
for 2003 to eight student-athletes.
Hicks was a two-year
captain for Hopkins High School and helped lead the team
to three district championships. In
2000, Hicks was a member of the Minnesota Olympic Development
Program.
“
When you look at Christina, you’re looking at someone
who was created to play soccer,” Stone said. “Her
skill level is at the Division I level. She has a great club
background. I really believe she has the ability to be a
difference maker for us and eventually dominate games at
the Division II level.”
Bemidji State finished its 2002
campaign with a 4-12 overall record, 1-8 in NSIC play in
Stone’s first year with
the program.
