Bemidji State posts tie and loss in Big S Tournament over the weekend

MARQUETTE, Mich. - The Bemidji State soccer team was shut-out 2-0 today by Saginaw Valley State at the Northern Michigan Tournament in Marquette, Mich. It was the first meeting between the two schools.

Saginaw Valley State got on the board in the ninth minute on a goal by Erin Szaroleta to make the score 1-0. The score remained 1-0 until the 60th minute when Jennifer Prior put Saginaw Valley State ahead 2-0.

Freshmen Tegan Moehn and Ashley Lehmeier led the Beavers with two shots on goal each. Goalkeeper Kari Torgerson also made 12 saves in the loss for BSU.

The Beavers now have a record of 1-4-1 on the season. BSU plays again Sunday afternoon, as it takes on Northern Michigan at 1:00 p.m. Northern Michigan has beaten the Beavers in two prior meetings.
