Katie Meinhardt named NSIC Offensive Player of the Week

BEMIDJI, Minn. - The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference today announced Bemidji State University freshman soccer player Katie Meinhardt has been selected as the Offensive Player of the Week for Sept. 8-13.

Meinhardt (Maple Grove, Minn.) scored a pair of goals during the Beavers weekend matches at the University of Minnesota-Morris Cougar Classic and was named to the All-Tournament Team. Scoring a goal in each contest, Meinhardt notched her first during a 4-2 loss to Augustana on Saturday and the second during a 2-1 loss to Minnesota-Morris on Sunday.

Goalkeeper Kari Torgerson (New Hope, Minn.) was also named to the All-Tournament Team for BSU, as she finished the weekend with 27 saves.

The Beavers (1-3-1) will next travel to Marquette, Mich., to participate in the Northern Michigan Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 13, and Sunday, Sept. 14. Saturday they will take on Saginaw Valley State at 2:00 p.m. and Sunday they will be in competition against host Northern Michigan with a 1:00 p.m. start.
