Dec. 16, 2005 - Moehn earns W-League tryout for 2006 season
Bemidji State junior defender Tegan Moehn (Ramsey, Minn.) has been invited to a W-League tryout for the newest addition to the 37-team league in Minneapolis, Minn. Moehn is one of 48 players invited to the tryout to be held on December 21-22, 2005 at the Soccer Blast Facility in Burnsville, Minn.

Dec. 9, 2005 - Torgerson named NSCAA/adidas All-American

Bemidji State junior goalkeeper Kari Torgerson (New Hope, Minn.) has been named the first All-American in the ten-year history of the BSU women’s soccer program, as she was selected to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/adidas All-America Second Team.

Nov. 29, 2005 - Egnell earns Academic All-America accolades
Senior defender Cristina Egnell (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) became just the second student-athlete in Bemidji State University athletic history to be named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America First Team selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Nov. 28, 2005 - BSU places school record three on All-Region Team
The Bemidji State University soccer team, coming of the best season in program history with 12 wins, placed a school record three players on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Central All-Region Teams. Goalkeeper Kari Torgerson (Jr.; New Hope, Minn.) and defender Tegan Moehn (Jr.; Ramsey, Minn.) earned All-Region First Team honors, while Katie Meinhardt (Jr.; Maple Grove, Minn.) gained Third Team honors.

Nov. 6, 2005 - BSU battles, but comes up just short in shootout

In the NSIC Tournament Third Place game, the Bemidji State University soccer team lost a close game to Wayne State College. As the game remained tied 2-2 through two overtimes the teams battled in a shootout. BSU came up just short losing the shootout 4-3.

Nov. 5, 2005 - BSU drops heartbreaker in NSIC semifinal
The Bemidji State University soccer played Northern State to a tight match in the semifinal round of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Tournament. The Beavers were unable to hold on as the Wolves notched a late goal to upset the higher-seeded Bemidji State, 1-0.

Nov. 1, 2005 - Beavers defeat MSU-Moorhead to advance to semifinals

On a cold afternoon, the Bemidji State University soccer team defeated Minnesota State-Moorhead in the first round of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference tournament. The Beavers used a goal from Katie Meinhardt (Jr.; Maple Grove, Minn.) and a perfect performance in net from Kari Torgerson (Jr.; New Hope, Minn.) to gain the 1-0 victory.

Oct. 9, 2005 - BSU’s second consecutive double OT match ends in 1-1 tie
For the second consecutive day the Bemidji State University soccer team played in a double overtime game. After picking up the win yesterday, BSU settled for a 1-1 tie against host Southwest Minnesota State on a goal by freshman Lauren Olivares (El Paso, Texas.).

Oct. 8, 2005 - Hyvare lifts BSU to 2-1 double-overtime win over WSC

It took over 100 minutes and two overtime periods, but the Bemidji State University soccer team solidified its eighth victory of the season today as Kelly Hyvare (Fr., Coon Rapids, Minn.) beat the Wayne State goalkeeper for the game-winner just over 2:29 into the second overtime.

In a hard fought game by both sides, Bemidji State got a goal from junior Katie Meinhardt (Maple Grove, Minn.) with just 19 seconds left in regulation to knot the score at 2-2 with Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference rival Wayne State College. The game continued through two overtimes without either team finding the net to end the game in a tie.

Nine months removed from its most successful season in program history, the Bemidji State University soccer team has been rewarded by being picked to finish fourth in the 2005 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Pre-Season Soccer Coaches' Poll, the league today announced. BSU junior goaltender Kari Torgerson (New Hope, Minn.) was named as the 2005 NSIC Pre-Season Defensive Player of the Year and junior forward Katie Meinhardt (Maple Grove, Minn.) was selected as Player to Watch in the same poll.

Bemidji State University head soccer coach Jim Stone has announced that Bemidji High School’s Katherine Wheeler will join the Beavers for the 2005 season. She continues the tradition of native Bemidji players that have made the jump to the NCAA Division-II ranks to play for the Beavers including Kelly Lessmann (1999-2002), Amy Vleck (2000-02) and current BSU mid-fielder Megan Wallner.

Feb 2, 2005 - Stone Announces 2005 Recruiting Class
Bemidji State head soccer coach Jim Stone has announced the signing of four players to National Letters of Intent and the addition two transfers to his 2005 recruiting class. Kelly Hyvare, Jessica Meath, Lauren Olivares and Jennifer Clifford will each begin their collegiate eligibility at BSU next fall while Kathryn Eden and Jessica Weir, both of whom are transfers, will have three years of eligibility remaining.
