BEMIDJI, Minn. - The Bemidji State University soccer team will begin its spring slate of 24 practices and three days of competition April 13, coach Jim Stone announced. Stone’s squad is on tap for contests against the Woodbury U-17 Premier team, the Woodbury U-15 Premier team and Northern Michigan University.
BSU’s 24-practice schedule began March 24 and runs through May 1. The first game will be played at 10 a.m. April 13 against the Woodbury U-17 team in Bemidji, and the final two games will be played April 19-20 against NMU and Woodbury U-15 in Duluth, Minn. Those games are slated for 5 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. start times, respectively.
After completing a 9-9-3 season (5-3-1 NSIC) and signing 10 players to National Letters of Intent in the offseason, Stone’s squad is building for next fall after losing eight players, including former All-NSIC selections Megan Wallner and Christina Hicks.
The 2008 Beavers will be led by three returning seniors and the top five leading scorers from last year.
BSU’s practices will run from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
