Soccer team will travel to St. Paul for pair of exhibition matches

BEMIDJI, Minn. - The Bemidji State soccer team kicks off its exhibition schedule this weekend as the team travels down to the state capital on Friday to take on St. Catherine University at 1 p.m and the University of St. Thomas at 5 p.m. The Beavers then host their annual alumni game on Saturday at noon.

St. Catherine and St. Thomas both compete in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) and are affiliated with the NCAA Division III.

St. Catherine finished their 2008 season with a record 9-7-2 (4-6-1 MIAC). St. Thomas has posted 18 top-five MIAC finishes in 22 seasons, including three championships and eight second-place finishes. They've reached the NCAA playoffs seven times in its program history.

Bemidji State University, located in Bemidji, Minn., is an NCAA Division II institution and a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
