BISMARCK, N.D. -The University of Mary defense shutdown the Bemidji State University soccer team Saturday afternoon as the Marauders blanked the Beavers 1-0.

The Marauders controlled the ball for most of the game taking eight shots on goal while limiting the Beavers’ shots to just two.

Samantha Ross (Jr., Stillwater) made seven saves for the Beavers during the match.

BSU had some chances to get back in the game taking four corner kicks in the second half. However, all of them were turned away by the Marauder defense.

The loss now drops Bemidji State to 5-4-0 in NSIC play on the season. BSU now sits in seventh place in the NSIC with four conference matches left to play. The top eight teams in the conference advance on to the NSIC tournament.

The Beavers will take on Northern State tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m. in Aberdeen S.D.
