April 26, 2003 - BSU goes 1-2 in first day of NSIC Crossover

The Bemidji State University went 1-2 in first day of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Softball Tournament today.The Beavers won their first game 6-3 versus Wayne State College behind the arm of senior Katie Hurst who collected eight strike outs on the mound.

In their second game, BSU was defeated by Winona State University 3-0. In their final game of the day, the Beavers were defeated by Southwest State University, 4-2.

April 21, 2003 - BSU takes two from MSU-Moorhead
The Bemidji State University softball team swept an NSIC double header today versus Minnesota State University-Moorhead by scores of 6-3 and 3-1. Jamie Fisher led the Beavers offensively. She went 2-6 with six RBIs and a runs scored on the day.

April 19, 2003 - Weather ends NDSU Classic Early
The second day of the NDSU Softball Classic in Fargo, N.D. has been cancelled for the today due to the weather. The Beavers will be back in action when they take the field versus Minnesota State University-Moorhead Monday. The NSIC doubleheader's first pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at the BSU Field.
April 18, 2003 - North Dakota State Tops BSU 10-0
The Beavers' first two batters reached base in the bottom of the first, but that was all the offense the BSU offense could muster as North Dakota State University softball team blanked BSU 10-0.

April 18, 2003 - North Dakota's Peterson One-hits BSU
BSU kicked off the NDSU Softball Classic this morning with a 7-0 loss to the University of North Dakota. The Beavers face host team North Dakota State today in their second game at 1:30 p.m.

April 15, 2003 - BSU sweeps UM-Crookston, 2-1 and 12-5
Bemidji State got got back over .500 (5-4) for the first time since the Beavers were 1-0 with a double-header sweep over UM-Crookston today at the BSU Softball Field. BSU topped UMC 2-1 in the first game, and used a five-run first inning to beat the Golden Eagles 12-5 in the nightcap.

April 13, 2003 - BSU takes Wayne State 3-2 in 10 innings, lose to Southwest
The BSU softball team went 1-1 in the second day if the NSIC crossover tournament in Aberdeen, S.D. today. The Beavers lost to Southwest State, 5-1, in their first action of the day and ended the tournament bettering Wayne State (Neb.) 3-2 in 10 innings.

April 12, 2003 - Beavers go 1-2 in first day of NSIC Crossover


The Bemidji State softball team went 1-2 today in the first day of the NSIC crossover tournament hosted by Northern State in Aberdeen S.D. The Beavers were shut out by Winona State, 9-0, in the first game of the day, were 2-1 winners over Northern State, and lost to Concordia-St. Paul, 8-5. The team will face Southwest State tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. and Wayne State (Neb.) at 11: 00 a.m.

April 8, 2003 - BSU Head Coach Amanda Went Gets First Win

Behind the solid pitching of Katie Hurst and a three-run second inning, the Bemidji State University softball squad opened up the 2003 campaign by winning game one, 9-2, over the University of Minnesota-Morris today in Bemidji, Minn.

Hurst went the distance, striking out six Cougars and only allowing two runs on four hits. BSU's Megan Bray went four-for-four with a double, a run scored, and an RBI while Jess Radermacher collected three hits in four chances, scored twice, had two RBI's, and a double.

The win marks head coach Amanda Went's first at Bemidji State.

Game two saw UM-Morris pick up the NSIC win with a 6-4 affair.

April 2, 2003 - 2003 Prospectus

Get a jump on the 2003 softball season by taking a look at the 2003 prospectus. The Beavers will open thier season when they take to the field April 8th at 3:00 p.m.

Sept. 12, 2002 - Amanda Went named head softball coach
Bemidji State University director of athletics Dr. Rick Goeb today announced the hiring of Amanda Went as BSU’s head softball and assistant women’s basketball coach.
