Sept. 28, 2004 - Brunsdon Named Head Coach
Bemidji State University Director of Athletics Dr. Rick Goeb has announced the hiring of Paul Brunsdon as head softball and assistant women's basketball coach. Brunsdon comes to BSU after serving as assistant women's basketball coach as College of St. Mary in Omaha, Neb.

In a season that saw four home games, the Bemidji State softball team competed at several tournaments and road contests. There were four tournaments overall including the season-ending Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championships.

April 30, 2004 - Beavers End Season at NSIC Tournament
At the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Tournament, the Bemidji State softball squad sneaked by No. 8 seed Minnesota-Crookston, 4-2 in eight innings in Game 1 and advanced to the winner's round. However, the 2004 season came to an end with losses to No. 1 seed SW Minnesota State, 3-2 in eight innings and 2-0 to No. 4 seed Winona State. The Beavers, who finished 2-29 overall, entered the Tournament hosted by Minnesota State-Moorhead as the No. 9 seed.

April 25, 2004 - BSU Drops Two in Final Day of Classic
The Bemidji State softball team wrapped up tournament play this afternoon with a 0-10 setback to South Dakota State and a 1-13 loss to South Dakota at the Minnesota State, Mankato/American Legion Classic. Junior Jenny Dietz knocked her first season homerun versus South Dakota.

April 24, 2004 - Beavers Lose Two to North Central Conference

In a rain-shortened first day of the Minnesota State, Mankato/American Legion Classic today, the Bemidji State softball club dropped an affair to Minnesota State, Mankato 10-1 before losing 6-0 to Augustana. BSU was scheduled to play #4 Nebraska-Omaha at 5:00 p.m. but was canceled due to rain.

April 22, 2004 - Beavers Pick Up First Season Win at UM-Crookston
Bemidji State softball dropped a 7-0 decision in Game 1 before exploding for a season-high eight runs on 11 hits in the 8-5 victory in the nightcap over Minnesota-Crookston this afternoon in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action. With the win, BSU halted a 25-game losing skid dating back to last season.

April 20, 2004 - BSU Softball Drops Two to Bulldogs
After going ahead 2-0 in three innings, the Bemidji State softball team allowed 11 straight runs to Minnesota Duluth in dropping an 11-2 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference affair in Game 1 at the BSU Softball Field. Despite homeruns by Jamie Fisher and Leah Bowen in Game 2, the Beavers dropped the contest by a count of 9-4.

April 18, 2004 - Beavers Drop Five Games at NSIC Crossover
At the NSIC Crossover hosted by Minnesota-Crookston, the Beavers went winless in five tries against league opponents.

April 12, 2004 - Beavers Lose Home Opener to North Dakota
The Bemidji State softball team dropped a 10-4 decision to North Dakota in Game 1 of the 2004 BSU home-opener. BSU went up by a count of 3-2 after two innings, but UND notched seven runs on five hits in the top of the fourth inning to take a 9-3 advantage. In Game 2, UND hurler Tara Peterson silenced the BSU bats in the form of a perfect game as the Fighting Sioux won 8-0 in five innings.

April 10, 2004 - BSU Drops Two More to North Dakota Schools
At the second and final day of the Concordia-St. Paul Tournament today, the Bemidji State softball team got wiped out by a 0-9 count to #12 North Dakota State before losing 2-5 to North Dakota. Sophomore Megan Woslager continued her hot hitting with two hits on the day extending her hitting streak to five games and has hit safely in seven of the last eight.

April 9, 2004 - Beavers Go Winless Day 1 at Concordia-St. Paul Tourn.
The Bemidji State softball team went 0-2 at Day 1 of the Concordia-St. Paul Tournament dropping decisions to Minnesota State, Moorhead, 0-8, and No. 23 St. Cloud State, 1-11. BSU's Megan Woslager broke a 26-inning scoring drought with a steal of home after a lead-off double in the seventh inning against SCSU.

The Bemidji State softball squad lost three league games today at the second and final day of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Crossover, hosted by Wayne State (Neb.). BSU went five innings against Winona State and Concordia-St. Paul, losing 11-1 to WSU and 14-0 to CSP before losing a 3-1 contest against Northern State.

March 17, 2004 - BSU Begins 2004 Season at NW Missouri State
The Bemidji State University softball team, which finished 9-14 overall last year and sixth in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference standings, will be looking towards the 2004 season with lots of youth and high hopes. Of the six letter winners returning, five of them are either juniors or seniors. However, of the other eight on the line-up card, four will be in their first season at BSU.

Feb. 25, 2004 - Beavers Picked Sixth in NSIC Preseason Poll
The Bemidji State softball team, which finished last year 9-14 overall and sixth in the league standings, was picked to finish sixth in the 2004 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Preseason Softball Coaches Poll. The announcement came yesterday from the league offices. BSU, along with Minnesota State, Moorhead, tied for the sixth spot with 23 points.
