May 12, 2005 - BSU Softball Adds Two to 2006 Signing Class
Bemidji State University head softball coach Paul Brunsdon has announced the addition of two pitchers to the BSU roster for the 2006 season. Joining the Beavers next fall will be St. Michael, Minn. native Kathryn Goodin and Alison Willard from Hutchinson, Minn.

May 6, 2005 - BSU Eliminated from NSIC Tournament by Northern State
The Bemidji State University softball season was halted today as Northern State University blanked the Beavers, 12-0 in five innings, handing BSU its second loss in the double elimination Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Softball Tournament.

May 6, 2005 - MerriAnne Werder Collects All-NSIC Softball Honors
Bemidji State University senior MerriAnne Werder (Browerville, Minn/Fergus Falls CC) has been named to the 2005 All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Softball Honorable Mention team. She becomes the first Beaver since Megan Bray, Leah Bowen and Lauren Wilson were selected for the honor in 2003.

May 6, 2005 - BSU Drops NSIC Tournament Opener to CSP, 8-0
The Bemidji State University softball team dropped an 8-0 decision to the No. 2 seed Concordia University-St. Paul on the Golden Bears' home field this morning in the opening game of the 2005 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Tournament. The Beavers will now face No. 6 Northern State University at 2:00 p.m. in the consolation bracket of the double-elimination event.

The Bemidji State University softball team lost its final two NSIC regular season games to host Northern State. The Wolves used some big innings to dispose of the Beavers 13-3 in game one and 14-6 in the night cap.

April 27, 2005 - Hot Bats on a Cold Day Lead Beavers to Sweep of UMC
Amidst the snowfall, timely hitting and strong pitching led the Beavers to a sweep in a doubleheader against the University of Minnesota-Crookston. The Beavers took the first game 8-0 and the second 11-3 to complete their first sweep of the season and just the second time this year with back-to-back victories.

April 27, 2005 - Brunsdon Inks Six for 2006 Season
Bemidji State University head softball coach Paul Brunsdon today announced the commitment of six players to BSU for the 2006 season. The Beavers add a junior college transfer and five high school seniors to fill a need for pitchers and overall athleticism on the field.

April 27, 2005 - University of Mary Cancels April 29 Double-Header
Bemidji State University head softball coach Paul Brunsdon today announced that BSU's double-header scheduled for Friday, April 29 versus the University of Mary has been cancelled. The University of Mary will use the date to reschedule a one of its league contests claimed by inclement weather.
April 26, 2005 - BSU Drops Windy, Rainy Game One at UND;
Game Two Cancelled Due to Inclement Weather
On a cold, windy day at the University of North Dakota the Beavers were outdueled 6-0 in game one of a doubleheader, which saw game two cancelled due to inclement weather.

April 24, 2005 - BSU Continues Conference Skid at Crossover; Lose Two
Bemidji State University ran into two hot offenses Sunday in Moorhead, Minn. on the second and final day of the NSIC Northern Crossover as they dropped games 17-2 and 8-0 against Wayne State College and Winona State University.

April 23, 2005 - Beavers Drop Two at NSIC Northern Crossover
The Bemidji State University softball team lost both games on the first of a two-day NSIC Northern Crossover in Moorhead. Minn. After an 8-0 loss in which the Beavers were no-hit against Concordia-St. Paul, the Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs used late-inning run support to get past BSU 11-2.

April 22, 2005 - Beavers Add Double-Dip at Valley City State May 3
Bemidji State University head softball coach Paul Brunsdon today announced that the Beavers have added a double-header at Valley City State University to the 2005 schedule. The games are slated for May 3 with the first pitch set for 3:00 p.m. at the Viking's Softball Complex.

April 21, 2005 - BSU Drops Night Cap After Taking Extra-Inning Game 1
The Bemidji State University softball team manufactured two runs in bonus time to win the first game of a doubleheader, 4-3, before being dropped 7-1 in the night cap against Wisconsin-Superior.

April 19, 2005 - BSU Takes Night Cap to Split Doubleheader At UMC
Bemidji State dropped game one of a doubleheader against NSIC foe Minnesota-Crookston 6-4 despite home runs from a pair of freshmen Jamie Docken (Owatonna, Minn) and Michelle Taylor (St. Michael, Minn.). The Beavers came back in game two to pound out a season-high 14 hits winning easily, 8-1.

April 15, 2005 - Beavers Split Twin Bill with Minnesota-Morris
The Bemidji State Softball team picked up its second victory of the season Friday as it traveled to Morris, Minn. to battle former Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference foe University of Minnesota-Morris in a non-conference double-header.

Bemidji State University head softball coach Paul Brunsdon has announced that today's non-conference double-header versus Rainy River Community College has been cancelled due to forecasted rain and soggy field conditions. No date has been set for the games to be made up.
April 10, 2005 - BSU Drops Two NSIC Games at Southern Crossover
The Bemidji State University softball team took two tough losses away from the NSIC Southern Crossover on Sunday against Concordia-St. Paul and host Winona State. The Golden Bears shut out the Beavers with a score of 7-0, while the Warriors offense handled most of the work in a 23-1 rout.

April 9, 2005 - Beavers Snap 19-Game Skid and Pick Up First Win
The Bemidji State University Softball team picked up its first win of the 2005 campaign with a victory over Wayne State (Neb.) College at the NSIC Southern Crossover in Winona, Minn. After dropping their first contest of the Crossover to Southwest Minnesota State, 3-0, the Beavers bounced back and picked up an extra-inning victory over WSC.

April 7, 2005 - BSU Drops Doublehead at Mayville State
Bemidji State University (0-16) dropped two heartbreakers in an effort to capture their first win of the 2005 campaign. The Beavers travelled to Mayville State and were swept in a doubleheader by scores of 7-5 and 5-4.

April 5, 2005 - BSU Drops Home Games Versus MSU-Moorhead
Bemidji State University’s losing streak climbed to 14 games after dropping the first two home games of the 2005 campaign to Minnesota State-Moorhead (9-8). The Dragons outscored BSU 7-0 in game one of the double-dip, and 6-2 in the second game.

On the heals of the unveiling of a plan by the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference to expand the league to 10 teams for the 2006-07 season, adding the University of Mary and Upper Iowa University, Bemidji State University head softball coach Paul Brunsdon has announced that the Beavers have added a pair of games at Mary April 29th.

The Bemidji State University softball team plays its home-opener Tuesday, April 4 as they host Minnesota State University-Moorhead. The Beavers will be looking for their first win of the season, after dropping all 12 games of a southern swing that included games versus nationally-ranked opponents.

March 20, 2005 - Bemidji State Loses Two Close Games at Washburn; Bambrough Homers in 3-1 Game Two Loss
The Bemidji State softball team lost both games of a doubleheader in Topeka, Kan. versus Washburn University. The Lady Blues beat the Beavers 7-1 in game one and snuck by the Beavers 3-1 in game two despite a home run from Mandy Bambrough.

March 19, 2005 - Beavers Drop a Pair Of Games at Rockhurst
Bemidji State lost both games of a doubleheader at Rockhurst University. The Hawks outscored the Beavers 10-4 in the first game and beat them 11-3 in a five-inning game two.
March 17, 2005 - Bemidji State One-Hit in Loss to Pittsburgh State
The Bemidji State University softball team ran into a NCAA Division II Powerhouse Thursday afternoon as it continued its spring road trip with a double-header at Pittsburgh State University. The Gorillas swept the double-dip by a combined total of 30-1, one-hitting the Beavers in game one, 21-0, and taking game two 19-1.

March 16, 2005 - Beavers Fall to Missouri Southern State 8-0 and 5-1
Dominant pitching and costly fielding errors prevented the Bemidji State University softball team from gaining its first win of the 2005 campaign today as the Beavers traveled to Joplin, Mo. to battle Missouri Southern State University in non-conference double-header action.

March 15, 2005 - BSU Swept by No. 23 Evangel University
The Bemidji State University softball team continued its spring road trip with a pair of games at Evangel University Tuesday. Despite BSU holding the lead in both contests, the Crusaders, ranked 23rd in the NAIA ranks, battled back to defeat the Beavers 7-2 and 11-1.

March 14, 2005 - Beavers Shut Out in 2005 Opener
The Bemidji State University softball team lifted the lid on the 2005 campaign Monday afternoon in Rolla, Mo. The Beavers were unable to score a run in the double-header, falling 12-0 in game 1 and 8-0 in the second game of the double dip versus Missouri-Rolla.

Feb. 23, 2005 - BSU Picked Eighth in Preseason Coaches Poll
The Bemidji State University softball team, which finished last year 2-29 overall and eighth in the league standings at 1-15, was picked to finish eighth in the 2005 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Preseason Softball Coaches Poll announced today by the league office. Outfielder Katie Gardas was also named as a 2005 Player to Watch.
