The Bemidji State University softball team
finished its fall schedule with a 5-1 record, including a 3-1
record at the Minnesota Duluth Tournament in September. The
BSU offense was led by UMD transfer Mara Johnson (Bemidji, Minn.),
who clubbed four home runs and notched eight RBI in six games.

Bemidji State University freshman Bridget
Smith (Burnsville, Minn.) and sophomore Jamie
Docken (Owatonna, Minn.) have each been named to the
2006 All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Softball team,
the league announced Friday evening at its awards banquet which
held in conjunction with the 2006 NSIC Softball Championship
in Crookston, Minn.

Despite a two-hit three-strikeout performance
in seven innings of work by Ali Willard, Northern
State University handed the Bemidji State University softball
team a 2-1 loss eliminating them from the 2006 NSIC Tournament
Friday afternoon at Lauf Field in Crookston, Minn. The Beavers
out hit the the Wolves 5-2 but struggled to generate any runs
leaving six runners on base.

The No. 6 Bemidji State University softball
team scored six consecutive runs to come within four of the
No. 3 seed Concordia-University St. Paul but it would not
be enough as the Golden Bears pounded five homeruns to take
the opening game of the 2006 NSIC Tournament 17-6 after six
innings today at Lauf Field in Crookston, Minn. The Beavers
now move on to play No.7 Northern State University at 2:00
p.m. in the double elimination event.

The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference
released the bracket for the conference softball tournament
taking place on May 5-6 in Crookston, Minnesota on the campus
of the University of Minnesota-Crookston. Bemidji State will
play Concordia-St. Paul in the opening round at 10:00 a.m. on
Friday, May 5th.

The Bemidji State University softball team
ended its regular season dropping both ends of a doubleheader
to Valley City State University. The Beavers were unable to
find their collective stride offensively and lost two close
games 4-2 and 3-0.

Jessica Pullar (Elk River, Minn.) homered
in each game of a doubleheader sweep for the Beavers at Wisconsin-Superior.
Pullar’s two solo home runs were the first of her career
and helped make the difference for Bemidji State coming from
behind to steal each game by one run 9-8 and 7-6.

The Bemidji State University softball team
dropped back-to-back games on the final day of the Northern
Sun Intercollegiate Conference Crossover. Concordia-St. Paul
downed the Beavers 3-0, then Southwest Minnesota State toppled
BSU 10-2.

In the first day of action of the NSIC Northern
Crossover, held in Bemidji, Minn. the Bemidji State University
women’s softball team dropped both contests of the day.
The Beavers fell to Winona State 13-0 in its first game of the
day and then lost a heartbreaker in the seventh inning to Wayne
State (Neb.) 3-2 in their second contest of the day.

The Bemidji State University softball team
bounced back from a late-inning loss in game one of a doubleheader
with Northern State to topple the Wolves in game two, 10-4.
The BSU bats made the difference in the nightcap, as the pitching
was equally strong with Amy Potter (Bovey, Minn.) and Ali Willard
(Hutchinson, Minn.) each throwing complete games.

Elk River, Minn. native Jessica Pullar collected
four doubles in a twinbill split for Bemidji State at the University
of Minnesota Crookston. Pullar also added three runs in the
two games to help the Beavers battle back from a 4-3 game one
loss to capture a 9-7 victory in the nightcap.

snapped a three-game losing streak with a pair of shutout victories
over the University of Minnesota-Crookston Friday at the BSU
Softball Field. BSU pitchers, Lindsey Imhof
(Littlefork, Minn.) and Ali Willard (Hutchinson,
Minn.) held the Golden Eagle batters in check while clutch hitting
sealed the sweep for the Beavers.

The Bemidji State University softball team
walked away from Minnesota Duluth with a pair of non-conference
losses. The Bulldogs used their power hitting to sweep the Beavers
in a doubleheader 16-2 and 6-4, including a combined three homeruns.
A 10-run second inning in game one and a late-inning insurance
run in game two sealed the Beavers’ fate.

Intercollegiate Conference victory of the season. Bemidji State
downed the Minnesota State-Moorhead 2-1 in game one, but dropped

Despite generating some offense, the Bemidji
State University softball team dropped back-to-back Northern
Sun Intercollegiate Conference games on the second and final
day of the Southern Crossover. Winona State handled the Beavers
10-2 including a seven-run third inning, while Wayne State took
a 6-3 victory.

completed a tough first day of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate
Conference Southern Crossover at Mustang Field on the campus
of Southwest Minnesota State University. The Beavers dropped
the first game 8-0 to Concordia-St. Paul, and lost game two
5-0 to the host Mustangs.

With a nearly flawless pitching performance
in game one, the Bemidji State University softball team was
only able to manage a split in its home-opener after blowing
a nine-run lead late in game two. The Beavers beat Mayville
State 1-0 in the opener, but dropped the nightcap 11-10.

The Bemidji State University softball team,
despite good defense only managed a split against the previously
winless Minnesota-Morris Cougars. Behind a solid day at the
plate for freshman Amy Klaers (Elk River Minn.), the Beavers
came back to win the nightcap 3-1 after dropping the opener
3-2.

Instead of opening the home portion of their
2006 schedule at the BSU Field Wednesday, Bemidji State University
softball head coach Sis Paulsen has announced that the Beavers
will play Wednesday's game at the University of Minnesota-Morris
due to poor filed conditions. The first game of the double header
is slated for a 2 p.m. first pitch with the nightcap to follow.

put an exclamation point on its 2006 spring trip sweeping a
doubleheader versus Mount Saint Vincent Friday in Cocoa Beach,
Fla. BSU pitchers dominated the Dolphins' lineup allowing just
nine hits in a pair of complete game shutouts, 6-0 and 4-0.

Junior pitcher Lindsey Imhof
(Jr., Big Fork, Minn.) used the strenghth of her arm to held
the Bemidji State University softball team earn its fifth win
of 2006 Thursday in Cocoa Beach, Fla. Imhof took the mound for
the Beavers and piled up nine strikeouts in seven innings of
work en route to a no hit, 1-0 victory over Mount Saint Vincent.
The one-run win came on the heels of a 2-0 loss to Mayville
State earlier in the day.

dropped a pair of games to Ripon College Wednesday afternoon
ending a school-best four-game winning streak to begin the 2006
season. The Red Hawks used a pair of late inning rallies to
overtake the Beavers 6-3 and 5-1 and sweep the doubleheader.

to earn a doubleheader sweep over Mayville State University,
4-3 and 7-1, to improve to 4-0 on the season. The four-game
winning streak to open the 2006 campaign equals a BSU best set

The Bemidji State softball team got the 2006
campaign underway with a pair of one-run wins over Delaware
Valley College Monday in Cocoa Beach, Fla. The doubleheader
sweep marks the first time BSU has started a season with consecutive
wins since the team went 4-0 to begin the 2001 season.

has been picked to finish seventh in the 2006 Northern Sun Intercollegiate
Conference Coaches’ Poll, announced by the league office.
The Beavers will play their first season under new head coach
Sis Paulsen, after posting a 6-33 record overall and 3-11 NSIC
record in 2005.
