Beavers drop season finale to Fighting Sioux
North Dakota picks up 9-0 sweep over Bemidji State

BEMIDJI, Minn. - The Bemidji State University tennis team completed its regular season on Monday when they were defeated by the University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux by a score of 9-0 in Grand Forks, N.D.

The Fighting Sioux jumped out to an early 3-0 lead when the took all three doubles points from the Beavers.

Singles action saw Kali Welu (Pequot Lakes, Minn.) gain the first set over her opponent Emily Callison by a score of 6-2. Callison charged back in the second set taking it 6-2 to create a match tiebreaker. The tiebreaker saw both players fighting back and forth with Callison edging out Welu 10-7 to pick up the point at the No. 1 position.

The Beavers finish their 2007 regular season campaign with a record of 2-13 (1-5; NSIC). The Beavers will be in action April 20th through the 22nd when they travel to the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference tournament in St. Cloud, Minn.
