Beavers fall to North Dakota 9-0
Sioux defeat BSU at every position to complete the sweep

BEMIDJI, Minn. - The Bemidji State University Tennis team was back in action Saturday as they lost 9-0 to the University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux at the Gillett Recreation and Fitness Center on the BSU campus.

In doubles competition the pair of Kali Welu (Pequot Lakes, Minn.) and Shelia Hoberg (Bismarck, N.D.) were defeated at the hands of the sister duo of Emily and Katie Callison at the No. 1 doubles seed by a score of 3-8. The No. 2 and 3 doubles found it just as tough as combined they were able to get one game from UND.

Singles went the Sioux’s way as they swept the Beavers at all six spots. Julie Kaspner (Pierz, Minn.) played well at the No. 3 spot but lost to Christa Hall by scores of 3-6, 1-6.

The loss moves the Beavers to 0-2 (0-0; NSIC) on the season while the win moves the Sioux to 8-1. They are scheduled to have their first taste of conference action as they host the Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons tommorow with the match set to begin at 10:00 a.m.
