Beavers hit road for first time this season
Bemidji State looks to build off first win of season

BEMIDJI, Minn. - The Bemidji State University women’s tennis team will play its first matches away from the Gillett Recreation and Fitness Center this weekend as the Beavers play a total of three matches in two days, all in Sioux City, Iowa. This weekend is the first three of nine consecutive matches on the road.

The first match of the weekend will pin the Beavers against the University of South Dakota Coyotes on Saturday at 6 p.m. Bemidji State concludes its weekend Sunday with a pair of matches against Morningside and Briar Cliff with the matches starting at 9 a.m. and noon respectively.

The Beavers last action saw them pick up their first victory of the season defeating the University of Minnesota Morris 9-0. BSU will look to garner its second consecutive victory which will be the first time since March 5 and 6 of 2005.

The Coyotes will enter this weekends action with a record of 8-4. The last time the two teams met was back on March 25, 2007 in Duluth Minn. and saw the Coyotes pick up a 9-0 victory.

The second match of the weekend for the Beavers is against Morningside University who will be competing for the first time on the 2008 season. The Beavers will finish up with a match against Briar Cliff University who is opening up its 2008 season this weekend.

The Beavers will return to conference action on March 16 as they will travel to Winona, Minn. to take on the three time Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference champions Winona State University Warriors. The next time the Beavers will be home is on March 30 as they will host the Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons.

Bemidji State University, located in Bemidji, Minn., is an NCAA Division II institution and a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
