Fargo, N.D. - Yesterday at the North Dakota State
Invitational, Bemidji State senior Josie Muzquiz took sixth
in the 800m and seventh in the 1,500m while sophomore Steve
Schreiber, with a vault of 6’8 1/2”, was crowned
champion in the high jump. Muzquiz ran the 800m in 2:38.73
and crossed the finish line in 5:21.99 for the 1,500m.
Muzquiz’s two top ten finishes are the first for her this season - she
finished eighth in the 3,000Steeplechase and 11th in the 800m at the Cobber
Outdoor Invite, April 22.
Schreiber has taken either first or second in the high jump for all five invites
he has participated this spring season, including a BSU record 6’9 1/2” leap
at the Duncan Invite (4/13). That jump gave him the championship as well as the
title at the Carleton Invite (4/19). The Chisago Lakes, Minn. native has bettered
6’8” in three of his five efforts.

Bemidji State has two events this weekend with the Sioux Open on Friday and
