FARGO, N.D. - Junior high jumper Steve
Schreiber (Forest Lake, Minn.) cleared 68.25
at tonights Bison Open, vaulting him into a second-place
finish behind North Dakota State junior Ryan Lesnau. Schreibers
performance earned him provisional qualification for the 2004
NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships, slated
for March 12-13 in Boston, Mass.
Freshman Shelby McCrady (Montgomery, Minn.) was one
of only two women to break the 1:20 mark in the 500-meter
dash. Her final time of 1:18.37 was good enough for second
place behind senior Kinsey Coles of North Dakota State, who
blitzed a nine-year-old arena record in the process.
Also enjoying a strong performance was sophomore Adam Wilson
(Forest Lake, Minn.), who posted a third-place finish in the
shot put. Wilsons 504.5 heave was one of
just three throws to surpass the 50-foot mark.
The Beavers will next participate in the Husky Open, scheduled
for February 14 in St. Cloud.
