MOORHEAD, Minn. - Sophomore Adam Wilson
(Forest Lake, Minn.) launched a 51-11 1/4 throw at the Ron
Masanz Invitational on Saturday night, earning him his third
shot put win of the outdoor season.
Wilson, who has finished no lower than third place in the
shot put at the five meets he has entered this season, remains
the second-ranked thrower in the event by the Northern Sun
Intercollegiate Conference.
Junior Steve Schreiber (Forest Lake, Minn.) had the
only other top-three finish for Bemidji State at the meet,
tying for third place in the high jump with a leap of 6-6.
The top finisher for the womens squad was freshman Nicole
Friend (International Falls, Minn.), who posted a fourth-place
finish in the 400-meter dash (1:00.22).
The Beavers will now focus on the NSIC championships, scheduled
for next Friday and Saturday in Duluth, Minn. Thanks to the
performance of senior Caesare Stimson (Chisago Lakes,
Minn.) at the heptathlon last weekend, the womens team
already leads the overall standings with 10 points.
