ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Bemidji State cross
country team traveled to St. Paul, Minn. to compete in the
Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference championship held
at the Les Bolstad golf course. Seven teams competed in the
meet, BSU ended the day in seventh place with a total score
of 164. Wayne State came away with the team title with a score
of 36.
Senior Nicole Friend (International Falls,
Minn.) led the Beavers finishing the 6k course with a time
of 25:31, good for 19th place. Freshman Genna Ironi
(Sauk Center, Minn.) was the next Beaver to cross
the finish line, finishing in 28th place with a time of 26:03.
Rounding out the top three finishers for the Beavers was sophomore
Rebecca Hougen (Bemidji, Minn.) who finished
in 30th place with a total time of 26:13.
It was a disappointing day for the Beavers as they finished
the day in seventh place as a team. Last season the Beavers
finished in fifth place as a team at the NSIC championships.
The Beavers will not be in action again until Nov. 4th as
they will travel to Wayne, Neb. to compete in the NCAA Division
II North Central Regional. The meet is slated to start at
10:00 a.m.
